Beer and Brewing
Beer And Brewing is a project designed in and around an abandoned building in Sheffield (90 Trippet Lane). It is a space converted to incorporate the brewing and selling of beer on a small, local scale.
The design is based around Sheffield’s steel industry history, with a focus on the use of pubs in Sheffield at this time. This is portrayed in the design through the use of bare brick, metal, rusty colours and worn wood to create an industrial yet warming feeling in the space. Historical features of the odd shaped original building were kept in tact including the ornate windows and exterior walls, keeping its original charm and appeal.
The large windows in the central part of the design not only allow light into all the rooms but allow customers to see into any room from anywhere in the building, linking each process involved in making and consuming beer.
